A long-time ago, practically a lifetime away-- people lived their lives and got things done without a lot of fuss and drama involved. Some people call it the good old days.
People were honest, their word was their bond. When you dealt with them or signed a contract, you wouldn't find out later you'd been cheated and the person you dealt with was in jail without bond.
Sure-- there were crooks, and people who made a living out of ripping people off. But they didn't go to the papers proclaiming their innocence while their cohorts lives were ruined and they now enjoy the comforts prison gives them.
And kids got into college by their hard work and merit. If they didn't have the money for tuition or a way to work while at school, they didn't get lazy and have their transcripts falsified while their rich parents paid for it.
Some people miss the good old days-- less hassle, no cutting corners, not so much violence and drugs. People were friends without ulterior motives, they used common sense back then. Try it, it pays.
