WE NEED TO GET A SPINE

The Preamble to The Constituiton of The United States reads as follows:

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

True, it was written hundreds of years ago--but the ideals it states are still valid. We need to keep the Justice for all. If some laws don't do that, they should be changed, not misused.  As for Domestic Tranquility--mass shootings happening everywhere.  People were concerned about kids learning from home during the pandemic not progressing socially, but at least no one had to worry about them being gunned down in school.  People are being murdered at grocery stores, movie theaters, malls, and sadly, even houses of worship.  We have Police, Military, and National Guard for each state for defense and to work promoting general welfare along with each states government  Securing the Blessing of Liberty should mean people feeling safe and free to take walks, go for drives, and enjoy life without fear of racial profiling, being shot waiting at a stop light, or getting caught in the crossfire of a shootout between rival gangs.  The only ones allowed to carry automatic weapons should be Police and Military.  No one else.  This does not affect the right to bear arms--just automatic weapons.  The NRA should not intimidate members of government by threatening to stop contributing to their campaigns.  We need to do something NOW, or all of those people killed in mass shootings will have died in vain, and we're not liviing up to the letter of the Constitution.  GOD HELP US.
