How many of us have emotional baggage?
Most all of us, I'd say. Things from our past
or even moe recently, that have scarred and wounded us
deeply. And we were never supposed to tell anyone--ever.
Some use denial to deal with it. Others say they overcame it
on their own. But the scars run too deep as do the wounds.
Anything that reminds them, affects them. Some avoid similar
people and situations. Some just seem to always be angry or irritable.
Some withdraw from everything so they can't be hurt by anything or
anyone again. In severely traumitized people, it can sadly reach
the point where they harm others or themselves. These people are not
crazy or whiners. They are victims who just needed someone to listen to
them. When they reach their limit and turn violent, it may be too late.
Everyone is fighting their own battles in different ways. Never bully, make fun of,
or dismiss someone who is hurting. They are fighting to be survivors of a private
war. Being rejected, laughed at, or criticized is not helping. Always be kind and keep
them in prayer.
