Twenty years ago on 9/11/01, our lives were
Turned into a tragic horror story that none
Of us will ever forget...For that matter, the
Whole world won't forget. The sheer horror stuns.
Our country was attacked by purely evil people
Because they hate us and the way that we
Live, among other things. On what started as a beautiful
Fall morning, terrorists struck, causing major tragedy.
They worked in teams. Hijacking 4 commercial flights
Full of passengers to use as weapons. One they flew
Into the Pentagon. Two of the planes each destroyed the
Twin Towers of The World Trade Center,spraying fiery jet fuel.
The 4th plane they say, was headed for Washington D.C.
However, the terrorists didn't take into account that we
Americans fight to protect our country. All the passengers got
Together and overcame the hijackers. Their bravery is our creed.
Though they all perished, the last plane never hit it's target.
It crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
The country came together to honor and to mourn. Scientists
Today are still trying to match remains to DNA the size of minutiae
With all the quarrels and divisions we have now--can we put them
aside for just a bit?
And that as Americans we stand as one and pay honor and respect
To the memory of those who died, both victims and heroes, to protect it?
