Have you ever held an elderly loved one's hand--
Not just to keep them steady, but because you love
Them and just wanted to hold their hand? Or maybe hold
Them close in a hug? Everyone always needs a hug.
Right now, even The Queen could use a hug. It's not Royal
Protocol--but she's been through a lot lately, and she is
Human like the rest of us. They said Mrs. Obama broke protocol
By giving The Queen a hug. But The Queen returned it.
Have you ever spent time with an elderly loved one? Not
Because you HAVE to, but because you WANT to?
Do you tell them and show them by your actions how
Very much you care about them? They love you too.
Have you ever had to comfort them when they're sad?
Just letting them know you're there can mean a lot.
Or when they're sick and scared about what's wrong,
Your love and reassurance helps as much as any Dr.'s they've got.
Have you got these kinds of memories to think of
When that loved one has breathed their last and gone?
As long as you keep those memories in your heart,
Your loved one still lives on and on.
