The Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays are
Always the time we remember the forgotten ones.
The homeless, the sick, the elderly, the ones who are
Alone, the underprivileged. They should never be forgotten.
Especially now, with a worldwide pandemic
Attacking everyone, no matter age, race, or
Financial or political status, nor religion. It's
An equal opportunity disease in all kinds of weather.
Isn't it sad that evil doesn't pick and choose
Who they get. But good people have
No way to get help because they don't meet
The requirements that agencies insist they make?
As a nation and world, we work together to
Help find a cure for a deadly pandemic.
Why can't we do that all the time, instead
Of fighting, hacking, and causing havoc?
We should remember the forgotten all year,
Every year and treat each other
With kindness and respect. The respect
Has to be earned on both sides--together.
The Lord said to "love thy neighbor as thyself",
And "do unto others as you would have done to
You." Don't you think it's about time we listened?
There's too much to lose.
