To my friends who are Doctors and Nurses,
Whatever Specialty you do--know this:
We're glad to know and trust you. We
Know you're in medicine to help people and
Save lives even during a pandemic.
You wouldn't be human if you weren't
Puzzled and somewhat anxious trying to
Treat what you don't know or understand.
Not many could do what you do.
How to tell someone you don't know if
They'll make it, or holding their
Hands as they die: no relatives in isolation.
You're their proxy--so they know someone is there.
You try to stay professional, but with this
It's not always possible, they're your
Patients for so long. You get to know them as
Individuals, not just patients behind an exam room door.
If we all keep working together,
Front Line workers and support help,
And a lot of help from God above--
We will make it through this hell.
