A TRUCE FOR CHRIST AT CHRISTMAS

 Let's keep Christ in Christmas, and declare

A truce everywhere for His birthday.

He died for all our sins, so we could be saved,

Can't we honor Him peacefully on His birthday?

Sing carols, Christmas hymns, talk to others on

The phone or computer.  Take precautions for

The pandemic and check on the elderly to make

Sure that they're okay.

Keep all the knives, guns and other weapons

Locked away for His day.  Don't act on

Grudges and no drive byes where an innocent child

Or bystander could be killed.  It worked in WWI.

The Germans and the Allies declared a Christmas

Truce.  The enemies came out of their bunkers and

Shared food and drink and sang carols together.  After

Christmas, war was back.  Can't we do it throughout the land?

Can't we have a Truce for Christ at Christmas?  Not everyone

Is the same religion--but if you don't beat them and harass them,

They'll respect your beliefs, and you can respect theirs. It's a two-way street.

No riots or protests, no looting or fires,  Just be kind and share

The joy of Christ's birth.  Let's try something new:  stay safe,

But lets try a Truce for Christ at Christmas.
