When a parent says "watch your language", they
Don't just mean swearing. They also mean for
You to watch any off-hand remarks you might say
That could hurt someone's feelings to their core.
No one should intentionally make comments or
Call someone names. If you're close friends and
Have nicknames, that's different. But if you don't know
Someone or what they're going through, offer a hand.
There are some people who get bombarded with
Cruelty--at home, school, or work.
They become overwhelmed by all of it and
Withdraw so they don't feel so much hurt.
Some people just blurt out anything with no
Thought how it sounds, while others say things
In a very calculated way to cause the most pain
And humiliation they can without caring.
People made jokes about #41's "kinder
Gentler nation" and his "1,000 points of light".
But the shape our country is in now--we need
Less rage, hatred, and injustice and more love.
People won't agree with this--that's all right.
I don't really expect anyone to. But let's
Try to calm things down to a level where we
Can have open discussions and equal justice.
