WHY WAIT SO LONG?

Why do members of government wait
Until the very last second to pass a bill or
Resolution to help the citizens they were elected
To serve?  Is it simply a battle to see who has more power?

After all, while millions of citizens are hanging by
A thread, they bicker back and forth putting
Up road blocks.  Most of them are rich in their own
Right, so except for getting the pandemic--it means nothing.

What is wrong with them--do they just like
Sustaining the suspense?  They love calling
Each other names, or laying the blame on someone
Else.  Why not just take responsibility?  It's galling.

Add to all this the upcoming election, and
You have mud slinging all over the place.
Some accusations may be partially or completely true,
Some totally fabricated.  Whichever, someone is disgraced.

This happens every election--and with a pandemic
Keeping us under quarantine, we're sick of it.
Even children are finding ways to help others.
Even citizens don't just talk, they do it.

If children understand people need help--
Why can't the government postpone
Vacations and giving themselves raises and
Just get down to it? If not, they should be gone.

Do any of them even go back to the states
They represent and talk to the people to
See how they feel and what they need?  Some
Representing agricultural states do, no re-election crew.

I think all the politicians who want to keep
God and prayer out of schools and work--
Should get down on their knees and talk to God
For inspiration to do their jobs and stay out of the murk.
