WHY IS IT SO HARD TO SAY "I LOVE YOU?"

When someone is angry at you or hates
You, they have no problem finding the
Words to tell you exactly how they feel.
Hearing people say that can really suck.

When people want to impress you, they
May lavish you with compliments about
Everything you do.  Most people see through
All that and get a shovel and wear boots

So why, when it's so easy to tell someone
You hate them, or smother them with fake
Compliments--why is it so hard to tell someone
That you love them?  It makes people shake.

Not just the romantic type, but also saying
It to family or friends.  Could it be fear
Of rejection, or that someone will think you're
A sissy?  What if before you say it, they're not here?

It shouldn't matter what others think
About you saying "I love you".  They need
To make sure their friends and family know
How they feel too.  People take heed.

If you tell someone you love them,
And they reject you--it will hurt
Definitely, and shake your self-esteem.
You'll find someone else and it will work.
