AUSTRALIA: PRAY FOR RAIN

When you hear the word " Australia", you
Think of Bondi Beach, shrimp on the Barbie--
The Outback, Kangaroos and Koala Bears.
And of course, the movie "Crocodile Dundee".

Beautiful scenery, Ayers Rock, and where
They call hiking "going walk about".  Many
Famous actors and actresses come from Australia.
The Harbour Bridge, and The Opera House in Sydney.

Now however, when you hear Australia, you think
Of bush fires burning, destroying land and homes and
Animals, both wild and farmstock.  Firefighters there
And some from other countries trying to get them in hand.

An international response to protect people and
Animals who are terrified and don't know where to go
To be safe.  Possessions and buildings can eventually
Be replaced, but lives of people and animals--not so.

The fires are so bad that there are concerns that
Some of the wild animals will be driven to
Extinction because of the intensity and duration
Of the fires.  Sad possibility, but true.

Please, everyone around the world--take a moment
To pray for rain for Australia.  Not a monsoon
Causing more damage, just a regular, steady rain to put
Out the bush fires and restore hope soon.
