WHAT KIDS NEED

There are some things that kids need in this life more than the newest toy, video game, or electrical
gadget.  These things are not expensive, in fact--they're free.  But they can make a world of difference
to a child.  These things are statements:

GOD LOVES YOU.
I LOVE YOU.
I BELIEVE IN YOU.
I HAVE YOUR BACK.
I'M HERE IF YOU NEED ME.
I KNOW YOU'LL DO YOUR BEST.
I'M PROUD OF YOU.

These statements cost nothing, but are worth more than money can buy.  They can make a child feel
confident, have more self-esteem and self-worth.  And lets them know they have a support system if
they need it.  It's like oxygen to their souls.  Don't let your child miss out on these joyous gifts, and
show them you mean what you say.  If they make mistakes--don't coddle them, and don't desert them.
Teach them to take responsibility for what they do, and to be aware of consequences that may come from what they have done.
