The sun is setting,
Shadows creeping in.
Street lights come on--
Day is at an end.
Dinner's on the table,
Everyone takes their seat.
Grace is said to bless their meal.
Everyone starts to eat.
Check to make sure that
All homework is done.
Take a bath, brush your teeth, a little
TV, say your prayers, bedtime comes.
When the weekend comes,
Everyone is happy--no school.
A time to do what you like
Without breaking any rules.
This is how it used to be
When I was a child.
We had fun with friends,
But we never went wild.
