PROGRESS??

They say you can't fight progress.
However, with all this progress we
Have almost lost the art of one to one verbal
Conversation--unless on modern technology.

Kids are more into video games than
Hanging out with their friends shooting
Hoops in basketball or playing baseball.
They don't need booze, drugs, or looting.

Even though we've made progress,
We have also regressed in some areas.
Some people can't keep their hands and
Other body parts to themselves.

People don't always feel safe anymore.
There was a time when the Sabbath and
The Mosques, Temples, and Churches
That held them were considered sacred.

But now, people are murdered everywhere.
Stores, theaters, churches, hospitals,
And schools.  Driving or walking on the street,
Someone comes by and the trigger is pulled.

If we lose our European allies
That we have had for years because
Our government has a revolving door
For staff and cabinet members, what a loss.

When it comes to people wanting to
Kill you rather than use diplomacy--
That definitely is not progress.  No one
In their right mind thinks that is normalcy.

And all the innocent people in
Countries around the world being
Attacked by terrorists because we are
Different than they--and we need killing.

I don't call this progress, not at all.
It's more like mayhem multiplied.
Our military does it's best to keep
Us safe.  Don't let it be in vain they died.
