As we sit down to our Thanksgiving dinner
With friends and family we hold dear--
While we count our many blessings, we
Must remember those gone this year.
Some due to military deployment.
Or illness or weather conditions extreme.
Some have passed and gone to Heaven,
But we feel their presence still, it seems.
We must also ask the Lord to keep care
Of those who have lost all they own--
Due to California wildfires, they have no
Table or family dinner--no place to call home.
And pray for those who have endured
Tragedy due to violence at the hand
Of an angry man. Those who were
Wounded, and those who lost family or friend.
And we must remember not to take
People or things for granted--they
Can change in the blink of an eye. We
Should remember to be thankful every day.
