LETTER FROM AN ALZHEIMER'S PATIENT

Though my mind may forget you--
My heart never will.
My memories of you are locked
In there while my heart beats still.

You're still just as precious to me
As you have always been.
Please keep fighting Alzheimer's
For me, one day we'll win.

Please remember harsh words
And tantrums I may throw--
Are this awful disease, not
The loved one you know.

Please pray for me daily--
God is the greatest doctor there is.
When my time has come--
He'll place my hand in His.

Don't grieve for me too long,
I've overcome Alzheimer's Disease.
Keep doing research on it--when the
Time is right, you'll find the key.

Remember I love you, and that
Never changed.  We hit a speed bump--
That messed up my mind, we couldn't go around
It, so with deep faith--we jumped.

Think of the wonderful day that
Alzheimer's will be no more.
Then memories won't be locked away
In heart's, the mind will be restored.
