IF ONLY'S

If only I hadn't
Been so dumb and naïve,
If only what my father said
About me I hadn't believed.

If only I'd had more confidence,
I might of had a family of my
Own and grandkids right now.
If only's just make you sigh.

Everyone has their own if
Only's, some for love--
Some for career and wealth.  But never
Mention it so as not to be made fun of.

The Bible says that where
You are is where God needs
You at this moment.  I'm okay with
That.  I'm trying to follow where He leads.

I'll keep my if only's
Tucked safely away,
And do as God tells me--
I'll be fine that way.
