DO YOU REGRET?

Do you ever regret not spending
Extra time with your parents,
Enjoying their company and listening
To them reminisce, thinking you had time--
But now they're gone, and no time is left?

Do you ever regret all the chances
You had to connect and make
Peace with someone, but they
Rejected your attempts--and
Now it's too late?

Do you ever regret saying
Things that cut someone to
The heart, then think:  I want
To take that back, but the words
Are out there--the answer is no.

Do you ever regret not taking the
Time to do random acts of kindness
When the opportunity comes up--
You didn't do anything because
You're too busy and it's not your business?

Do you ever regret misjudging someone
As being lazy and of no account?
Then whenever you or someone else
Have a problem, and need help--
They're the first to help out?

When your time has come on earth,
And it's getting down to the line,
Will you know you did your best
In this world, or will you think:
"So much wasted time?"
