THE LITTLE COUNTRY CHURCH

There's a little country church,
It's not big and elaborate--
It was built by it's members
To have a place to congregate.

They framed it themselves,
Carved the pulpit and pews.
Put in the windows, each
Part a gift to God they could do.

Baptistery and choir loft--
With a cross up front
And a picture of Jesus,
God's beloved Son.

A steeple on the roof
With a bell that rings--
Calling the members
To worship the King.

Generations of families
Have been married and
Buried in it's sanctuary.  All saying
Congratulations or goodbye to a friend.

They sing God's praises from
Old hymnals, and read scriptures
From Bibles passed down to
Each generation--God's words.

If they need extra funds
To replace or repair something--
They have bake sales and sell
Crafts to fix God's building.

There's a little country church--
Nothing big and elaborate,
But the faith of it's members
Is just as great.
