CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Every year around this time,
People decorate both the inside
And outside of their homes for
Christmas.  Some take great pride.

There are some neighborhoods
That have competitions to see
Who decorates the outside best,
With lights shining brightly.

People cover their entire
Home with flashing lights
And yard figurines that
Light up.  It's like Vegas at night.

Some choreograph their lights
To music, and it's really a
Sight to see.  All that is
Really festive and nice, but costly.

While nice to look at--some
People prefer simplicity.
A few tiny lights strung through
Trees, and lining the walks with luminaries.

Not to knock people enjoying
Decorating with lots of lights--
Just remembering the reason we
Celebrate had one star shining bright.
