I miss looking in storefront windows--
Especially at holiday time.
Back when they had mannequins that
Looked human--not the androgynous kind.
Sometimes they'd even have models
Pose and you couldn't tell which
Was which, they were that good.
They never even twitched.
Sometimes they simply showed
Items that the store had to sell.
Other times they'd set up scenes
With a story they wanted to tell.
Most of those storefront
Windows are gone now--
They have tables with items laid
Out. And those awful forms--YOW!
Everything is going on line--
They're closing some brick and
Mortar stores. Another tradition
Bites the dust--it's kind of sad.
