HOW DOES IT FEEL?

How does it feel, when you're
Sick and in pain and feel half dead--
And your Dr. blows you off, patronizes
You, or says it's all in your head?

Years of suffering get you
To the point you just don't care.
You see different specialists--
Who say you're full of hot air.

Or if they say they know
How you feel--unless they've
Felt what you do--the ability to
Give them some of your pain you crave.

And then one day--
Like a bolt from the blue,
A Dr. actually listens, and
Surprise--he believes you!

The joy in that alone
Can bring someone to tears.
After being sick and miserable
For so very many years.

You KNEW you weren't crazy--
But it's nice to have proof.
Hopefully the price of medicine
You need won't go through the roof.

Rejoice and thank God
For the progress you've made--
And pray for the other poor souls where
You were, miserable and sick every day.
