It's a sad fact that practically
Every generation of our nation
Has known war, or lived under
The threat of war declarations.
It's a sad fact that thousands
Of men and women in our military
Gave their lives or were disabled--because
They felt honored to serve their country.
It's a sad fact that we have
Divisive issues in our nation.
We've made some progress--but
Need to move forward on race relations.
It's a sad fact that in some cases
There is still racial profiling.
But that doesn't mean it's right to dishonor
The National Anthem when it's playing.
It's a sad fact that in trying to
Make a point of issues they have--
They also dishonor the people who
Fought and died so they DO HAVE.
It's a sad fact that the people who
Dishonor the National Anthem
Make millions of dollars while
Our troops get flags on their coffins.
It's a sad fact that those
Who dishonor the nation's song
Can't have a meeting with vets from
All wars, and learn to be American strong.
The National Anthem stands for
The battles fought to make this
Country strong. To make sure all
Have rights and freedoms others miss.
