50 STATES

Since Hurricane Harvey put
Texas in dire straits--
They find they're no longer
A "Lone Star" state.

They are one of our 50 states
And people from everywhere
Have donated money, food,
Clothes, furniture--because they care.

People are even coming from
Different states to help clean
Up debris.  We all have our
Versions of what hospitality means.

Every single volunteer, if you ask
Will say "They need help".
And "They'd do the same for us".
It's an instinct deeply felt.

Boats are used to go in deep water,
To find those who need rescue--
Doesn't matter your color--all lives
Matter, Black, White, and Blue.

If we can work together to help
Each other now, why can't we
Do it all the time, instead of
Rioting and looting?  God can see.
