Don't chain me to a pole and
Leave me to die in this flood.

Though not by blood.
I've been your friend
Loyal and true--
After everything we've done,
This is what you leave me to?
I know you're scared by the
Rising water and want to save
Your wife and kids so they don't drown.
I'm scared too--is this to be my grave?
Some abandoned pets get rescued,
I hope one of them is me.
All I want is love, food, a dry bed--
And somewhere safe to be.
If I'm not rescued, I'll
Cross the Rainbow Bridge.
No more worry about me--
If you ever really did.
