I'm a handsome fellow
If I do say so myself.
Beautiful dark eyes,
And in good health.
My ears and tail have
Been cropped--but I
Still strut my stuff. Black
And Silver and not shy.
I'm always alert for
Something different going
On. I warn my family
Even if someone is mowing.
I have a friend to play
With--I call her Pickles.
Same color as me, the antics
We pull make the family giggle.
We're loved very much and
Some might say spoiled rotten.
I've chewed up 2 of Pickles collars,
So a new one must be gotten.
I love to cuddle up with
My people--laying beside them,
Or putting my head on their shoe.
Sleeping in their lap is heaven!
I like to meet people when
They come to our house--
Pickles had been abused and abandoned,
So she is a barking, timid mouse.
I bring Grammie gifts from
Playing outside, she trades me
Food for the gifts--maybe she's
Scared I'll keep them--it's a good routine.
If you can adopt a dog, that would
Be wonderful--we all need loving homes.
The people that abused and left us
Need to be put in cages of their own.
