I mentioned you in prayer today--
And asked God to ease your pain.
I've known you my whole lifetime,
You baptized me and I was born again.
Memories started coming back--
Junior Church and Sunday School.
CYH and VBS, church picnics at
Linwood Park, fellowship and food.
"Hear the Gospel, Believe the Gospel,
Repent, Confess and be Baptized."
Those were the 5 steps to becoming
A Christian--I have them memorized.
I remember the revivals with different
Speakers--sometimes your brothers.
Everyone invited friends to come
And fill more pews than any others.
I remember sometimes we'd dim
The lights, show a picture of Christ
On the wall and sing "Turn Your Eyes Upon
Jesus". Inviting people to change their lives.
I remember the beautiful stain glass
Window behind the baptistery. The people
That bought the building replaced it with bricks.
Both parts are still standing, connected by the hall.
I remember my sister's wedding--it
Wasn't very big, just close family.
My Aunt and Uncle standing with them,
Mom made Barb's dress and she was pleased.
I have several memories of 633 S
Woodlawn. These are just a few.
But since you're the one that baptized me--
I wanted to say: THANK YOU.
