WHAT IS A FAMILY?

Most people think of family
As people related to you by blood
Or marriage. Aunts, Uncles, and
Cousins you've known since childhood.

There is another type of family--
It's called the family that you
Choose.  Friends as close as family,
That you can depend on too.

They are with you in good times--
Hold your hand or hug you in bad.
They encourage and uplift you,
And listen to you vent when you're mad.

They get your sense of humor,
And are as ornery as you are.
You know they've got your back--
Whether they're near or far.

When these two families
Blend together, you're very
Lucky indeed.  Some have no one--
And that's very sad to see.
