PHARMACEUTICAL PRICES

Medicine prices are far too high.
Patients can't afford what they need,
As a consequence--some die.  When that
Happens--pharmaceutical companies take heed.

If they keep inventing medicines that
Can treat or cure diseases in our time--
They need to have reasonable prices and
Insurance coverage available so people stay alive.

It's bad enough when adults can't get
Their medicines--because on fixed incomes
It's either meds, food, or bills.  But when children
Can't get what they need, you're numb.

What would someone from one of
These companies do, if it was one
Of their family in this dilemma?
Leave them sick, or sneak them some?

There has to be a way to take
The ego's and the greed
Out of the equation, and make
A program so people get what they need.

No need to lose your savings
Or lose your homes to pay
For meds.  Let Congress have these
Problems like us and see what they say.
