HUNGER

Sadly, the days of "Old Mother Hubbard"
Just being a kids rhyme are gone.
All over this country and the world--
People need food, and there's none.

In this country, without food
Banks, charities, soup kitchens
And volunteers--people would go to bed
Hungry, uncertain of getting a meal, or when.

Just because someone has no food
Or home, doesn't mean they're deadbeats.
Some have jobs, but with bills to pay--
They're not far from being on the streets.

Other countries need Humanitarian Aid.
Food, clothing, clean water, being taught
To grow food and to build homes to live
In when it's cold or it's hot.

It's not just poor third world
Countries that have problems
With hunger.  Even the richest
Nations in the world have them.

Don't berate, mock, or abuse
The hungry and the homeless.
But for the Grace of God--
You could be there next.
