Everything changes--we must
Accept that. It's all about
Progress and the future, that's
What our government leaders tout.
It's all well and good for
Community and country growth--
But some don't like so many
New things, too much change they loath.
Just the other day, a friend
Said "heck, our childhood
Is vanishing." We have fond memories
Of people or places so good.
Whether places we went to for
Fun and meeting friends--
Or TV or movie actors or singers,
The list may never end.
But when you tear down those
Places--or sadly an entertainer
Or a long-time family member dies,
Some of your childhood disappears.
In the name of progress as well
As ageing--we must carry on.
All we have are our memories--all
Tangible evidence of childhood is gone.
