YOUR DOG

Cold wet noses--
Wiggly tails and butts.
Doesn't matter if they're purebred,
Or Heinz 57 mutts.

Your dog can make you
Feel better after a hard day.
They're always ready for anything--
Especially ready to play.

They can tell when you're sad,
Or when you have the flu--
They won't leave your side,
They stick to you like glue.

They can learn tricks,
If their reward is a treat.
Sloppy kisses from your dog
Are wonderful and hard to beat.

They love us unconditionally--
And all they ask in return,
Is a place to live, food to eat, to be safe,
And well, to be loved and never spurned.

They say the way someone treats
Their pets reflects how they will
Treat people.  If so, humans have a
Lot of learning to do still.
