WHEN AND WHY?

When was it decided, and by whom--
That youthful pranks changed from
Prank phone calls with riddles or throwing
Water balloons, tee-peeing houses for fun?

Now it seems youth think that
They have to drink, do drugs,
Sext and call in bomb threats to schools,
Government buildings, and act like thugs.

I know times have changed and
We have more technology now--
But that, contrary to what youth think,
Does not excuse their behavior somehow.

Not all youth do these things--I'm
Not lumping them all together.  Parents
Need to be more involved in their kids lives
To try and avoid such incidents.

Let them know you're there for them
Whenever they need to talk.
But just being their buddy/friend--
Definitely needs to stop!
