FLOWERS AND FLAGS

This weekend is known as Memorial
Day weekend in the USA.
We honor all our lost loved ones,
Including those who were put in harm's way.

No loss of life is more tragic than
Another.  The circumstances may differ,
But the pain families feel is a
Pain that everyone suffers.

We also thank our brave service
Men and women who gave their all,
In service to their nation--
They answered duty's call.

We show our love and honor
With flowers and flags.
Keeping treasured mementos:  letters,
Photos, MIA bracelets, even dog tags.

Our loved ones will never be
Forgotten.  They live on
In our hearts and minds.
So they're never really gone.
