Family Time

They advertise family game night
Now, so parents and their kids
Reconnect as a family.  No tech gadgets,
Only board games with instructions in the lid.

Jigsaw puzzles are good, too.
What's sad, is that people need
To be reminded to be a family.
Did it get lost to work and greed?

Children even have to be reminded
By TV ads to go outside and play.
Get away from computers and video games--
And get fresh air for 60 minutes every day.

When I was growing up--
It was like pulling teeth to get
Kids to come inside.  Family game
Night was pure and simple enjoyment.

In this life, you have to keep
Your priorities straight, work is
Important, but family memories and
Love are better than being a tech whiz.

So keep work and family separate,
But don't neglect family for the other.
Leave work at the office, and spend quality
Time with family, you won't get a better offer.
