In life there are sets
Of checks and balances.
No one said it would be easy--
All choices have consequences.

For every gain you make,
There will be a loss.
For every penny you save,
You'll have to get something at great cost.

For every friend that you make,
Some you will lose--
Know your true friends,
Don't let yourself be used.

Life isn't a competition race,
But a journey you go on.
Don't try to be like someone else--
Your sense of values will be gone.

Be fair in your dealings with others--
If not, you'll be found out.
And if you try to change your life,
People will always have doubts.

Keep yourself grounded,
Take the good with the bad--
It won't always be easy, but your life
