Let Children Be Children

Let your children be children
For as long as they can,
They grow up far too soon--
And have to deal with life's demands.

Let them play in a sandbox,
Swing high on the swings--
Shoot hoops or play ball.
Limit their time on technical things.

Let them build tree houses,
Or forts out of blankets---
Have friends for sleep overs,
Build things with Lego sets.

Have tea parties and play dress up,
Help mom bake cookies---
That's a childhood that will
Make wonderful memories.

Technology has it's place,
But they only have childhood
For a short moment in time--
As adults, they'll be glad they could.
