When things break down
And your world's torn apart,
It can mess with your mind
And break your heart.
What once had been so
Beautiful has crumbled to ash.
Putting things back together,
Is not an easy task.
Someone said or did something
Stupid and cruel and betrayed
Someone's trust--whatever happened,
It can't be fixed with a bandaid.
No one ever wants to be the
First to say they're sorry.
It's either due to ego or pride,
Or pain inflicted--it's a sad story.
It's like the line
From the Billy Joel song:
"Sorry seems to be the hardest word".
And the silence echoes long.
