Courage

Do any of us have courage?
I'm not talking beat up
And catch bad guys action hero courage--
And get your butt whupped.

I'm talking day to day courage.
Where you deal with the challenges
Life throws at you and keep going
And not give up--build your defenses.

Some don't have it--
They try--and when it doesn't work,
Give up too soon.  Others pretend
They have it--but their duties they shirk.

Some of us ask ourselves,
"Why do I keep trying"?
Because we care, and to give
Up would almost be like dying.

God gave us this life--
What we do with it is our
Gift to Him.  He doesn't give
Up on us even in our darkest hour.

So we keep the faith, and with
His guidance--keep plugging away.
He has plans for all of us,
To get us to a better day.
