SENSELESS

So much sadness,
So much pain.
Tragedy caused by hate--
Where is the gain?

People gathered together
In church to worship and pray.
Evil walks in and kills innocent humans,
Everywhere bullets and blood spray.

Houses of worship have always
Been considered places of refuge
For those in danger or in need of counseling,
To get through life's deluge.

Our world has always had
Evil battling good for supremacy.
But senseless murder in a church
Makes the world angry.

No matter your religious beliefs,
You should feel safe to practice them--
Without fear of being bombed or murdered
By those with hatred in their system.

May we all send condolences
And prayers to Charleston.
No matter our differences,
We all stand as one.
