Rules Are For Everyone

There are companies in our nation,
Where no overtime is the rule.
And it used to be you got something
Accomplished before you left school.

State and Federal government
Don't seem to believe in that.
They bicker over issues, not bi-partisan at all,
Don't show up for votes--that's a load of crap.

They disagree on solving deficits
In the budgets, making cuts that are extreme.
Taxpayers have to pay them overtime,
With money they've NEVER seen.

If they do get something decided--
It may be vetoed by the Governor or the Prez.
And they definitely aren't happy if
Their inabilities are highlighted by the press.

Any signs of solidarity they show
When we've been attacked--
Disappears like magic and
Their complacency comes back.

They should have their pay docked
For poor work performance, and
No pay for overtime or missing votes.
