HOW WILL THEY EXPLAIN?

No one is perfect--
We all have flaws.
But  Christians should respond
When a fellow Christian calls.

When a charter member of a church
Passes away, whether the staff
Of ministers knew them or not,
For none to attend is a major gaffe.

All friends of the member
Came to say goodbye.
He was a goodhearted,
God loving man until the day he died.

He was always active with
Things at the church--
The men's prayer breakfasts, and
Helping others when they were hurt.

A former assistant pastor was there, and
A wonderful friendship they shared.
A neighbor's son visited him each week.
He wasn't a Christian, but he cared.

As I wrote at the beginning,
We all have flaws--
But to upset a grieving family
Doesn't follow God's word or laws.

We each have our own souls
To worry about--but ignoring someone's
Many gifts to the church and then preach
On helping others find God's son--

Is somewhat hypocritical
To say the very least.
How will they explain their abscnce
To the Prince Of Peace?
