If you blink, you might miss it.
Downtown is one or two blocks long.
Everyone knows each other,
And if you've done any wrong.
Little shops and diners,
And a small grocery store.
If you need more than they have--
You'll have to drive 30 miles or more.
The townsfolk are friendly,
Hardworking people. Since their
Day starts before sunup, things
Shut down early--except the pool hall with beer.
You were raised in that area,
And revisit your old haunts.
Look around the schoolhouse,
And where you'd go on afternoon jaunts.
It's a small, rural town--
No one's heard of it, or knows it's location.
But they are proud Americans,
And these towns are across the nation.
