P E A C E

Peace is a concept
That few--if any of us know.
Disease, starvation, war and
Disasters, the list can grow and grow.

What happens at home
And abroad destroys your peace of mind.
Everyone intense and busy--
No time for peace and quiet time.

Your peace of heart leaves you
When your loved one goes to war.
That's why we pray to God--to
Have peace of mind and heart restored.

It's not the only reason we pray
To God, but it's in the top two.
Most government leaders don't care,
And some have no idea what to do.

In the 60's the chant was
"Give peace a chance",
You can tell it didn't happen
With a single glance.

Sadly, even animals don't have peace,
There are poachers, wild fires--
Animal and human predators,
The beauty of God's creatures they don't admire.

People will come up with all kinds
Of reasons not to have peace.
The food chain, dictators, wrong religion--
Hatred of others that will not cease.

What war has done to
Countries and people
Should never be allowed.
It makes the world feeble.

If you took a survey
Of what people want most--
World peace in their lifetime
Would get the most votes.
