Help Me Understand Lord

What is your plan for me Lord?
Help me understand.
I'm confused and unsure,
Please take me by the hand.

I know I'm where I'm needed--
And where you want me to be.
I know I can help Mom,
But I feel inadequate, please help me.

I also know there is a reason
For the physical pain I feel.
Medicine is too costly,
So I look to you to heal.

You've blessed me so richly,
I have no right to complain.
There's just days I can't get with it--
Depression clouds my brain.

I'm trying to do better--
Yet I feel that I am not.
Please give me more stamina and patience,
I need more than what I've got.

Help me deal with the frustration
I have with myself.
Help me keep it at a distance,
Somewhere high upon a shelf.

I know you only plan the best for me
And I thank you Lord for that.
Help me be a better person and to
Take good care of Mom--even when she's a brat.

And help me to be a better
Christian as Mom raised me to be--
So that both You and Mom
Can be proud of me.
