America's Quandry

You work 80 hours in one week,
And still not enough money for bills to pay.
People are still jobless and homeless, but the
Government says the economy is doing okay.

The unemployment rate is going down,
But they don't count the ones whose
Benefits have run out, or the ones who are
Caregivers and had to choose.

You must have health insurance--
Or be charged a fine.
You can't pay for either when you've
Been out of work for some time.

Our current President
Promised Hope and Change.
We're almost out of hope--
And his changes are causing us strain.

We pray for America,
And a leader who believes in God.
And a Congress to agree on something
Without needing cattle prods.

As commander-in-chief,
He should know how to salute the flag--
And his military escort without
A cup and tea bag.

And, as a matter of honor  and respect--
Go to the funeral of a high rank
Officer killed in combat--instead of golfing
On vacation--that left a bad odor that stank.

Even sending someone
On his staff in his place,
Would have been better
Than what was a total disgrace.

I hope his successor
Has common sense and a degree--
Believes in God and prayer,
And actually helps our country.
