The heat of summer
Has passed--the air's a little cooler.
The kids are back in school with
Everything they need, even a ruler.
Jackets and sweaters
Are made ready for wear,
Hot cider and hot chocolate
For everyone to share.
God brings out His fireworks
For the world to see--
The red, orange, gold and brown.
And He doesn't charge a fee.
The same scenery you
See everyday--
Suddenly is bright and alive,
And takes your breath away.
Some people drive around
To see the Autumn sights.
It can become a tradition,
Like looking at Christmas lights.
People everywhere have
Their favorite season.
That's their right--
They don't have to give a reason.
Kids always trick or treat,
And don't forget Thanksgiving.
The government has made us mad, but at least
It's in America we're living.
In this weary world full
Of hatred and despair--
In the beauty of Autumn colors ,
God reminds us He's always here.
