Important Shortages

With everyone so busy,
We have short supplies these days--
Of some important things
We should never let get away.

They're in no particular order, each is
As important as the one before.
Let's start with Honesty--
We all need it as our core.

We need it for our leaders,
And interacting with each other too.
Without honesty--who could trust anyone,
And what would we do?

We need Common Sense badly,
Sometimes more than degrees.
If someone had the two together--
It might help the economy.

We are short on Patience
And Kindness towards our fellow man.
In this age of terrorists--
United we have to stand.

Trust has all but disappeared,
Because of corruption and dishonesty.
It has to be re-earned the hard way,
We citizens aren't stupid, you see.

Communication technology is great--
But some things need a face to face,
To help solve the world's problems,
And save the human race.

We should be proud to be American,
Though our government has fumbled.
But not be arrogant with our pride--
Remember to be humble.

And the main thing we need to keep,
Is our Faith and Trust in God.
Pray when and where you want to,
Whether our leaders do or not.
