If You Were A Book

If you were a book,
What kind would you be?
An encyclopedia, or perhaps
A dictionary?

You could be a novel--
Fiction or non.
Would you have pictures,
Or just pages with words written on?

You could be a hot, steamy romance,
Or a mystery thriller.
The type you can't put down
Until you know who's the killer.

Maybe a childrens book,
Or a Do-It-Yourselfer.
Perhaps a journal or diary--
Or one that explains other cultures.

Possibly a western of days gone by,
Or a bittersweet tale
Of someone's problems
Telling why they feel they failed.

You could be a comic book,
And be a collector's item.
Become a best seller--the kind
People line up to buy them.

All those are nice,
And would be interesting to read--
But God is a book that's been #1 for centuries.
And it tells you everything you need.
